Welcome to my weekly Home Business Success Podcast.

Today, let’s talk about connecting with people.

There are a few key elements that will help you connect better and help you have better results as you’re out there growing your business.

We’ll talk about getting to their why as soon as possible. We’ll talk about why that’s important and how to really find out what drives them. They’re not going to give you the real reasons at first – they probably don’t even know them yet. But we’ll talk about some ideas about how to peel back the layers to really find out what matters to the people you’re talking to.

We’ll talk about listening generously. This is a new term I learned recently, but it is an extremely powerful one. When we interrupt someone’s thinking process after we asked a question, we’ve lost them. So we’ll talk about what that means and how to avoid it.

We’ll talk about letting go of the outcome. It’s not about me, even though I tend to want to make it so. People have things going on in their life that have nothing to do with us, so we’ll talk about ways to work with that and still stay in contact.

We’ll talk about what I say when people ask me what I do.

And we’ll talk about knowing what you have to offer. You really do have an incredibly valuable gift to offer, so it’s important to get really clear on that so you can offer it to really help people.
