Welcome to my weekly Home Business Success Podcast.
Today, let’s talk about the Shiny Object Syndrome. There are lots of different aspects to this. It seems to be a trend that’s growing: home business owners are getting distracted by too many ideas, going off in a million directions and never completing anything.
So, we’ll start off with one of the questions I’ve been receiving lately. Richard and I recently joined a new company, and several people have asked me about this since my name has been associated with a few different companies.
We’ll talk about when is it a good idea to switch companies? Or when is switching companies considered going after Shiny Objects?
We’ll discuss whether Network Marketing is a transactional type of business, or a business of building a team and a culture. Neither is necessarily bad, but there are different thoughts on this subject.
We’ll talk about reasons why you might or might not want to switch companies.
We’ll talk about Generic Network Marketing events, or mentors or trainings that you can purchase. When can they become a Shiny Object type of problem and when they are good for you?
We’ll talk about the difference between a quality event and a not so quality event.
We’ll talk about what I actually consider to be Shiny Objects and what’s not.
And we’ll talk about how to mentor your team members when you see them getting distracted.
