Today, let’s talk about how to keep your business going after you move to a new area. I moved to Salt Lake City about 18 months ago from Ventura, CA.
In Ventura, I was pretty well connected, but once we moved to Salt Lake City, that was no longer true. Sure I had family here, and I am working to reconnect with every one of them. But I needed to find new people to talk to so I could continue to grow my business.
So here are some tips from what I have learned, and what has helped me.
We’ll talk about how to get momentum going before you leave your old city, with the hopes that it will continue to grow after you’re gone.
We’ll talk about how to find local groups after you move, and how to use them to your advantage. Remember, this is not about pitching people, but rather about just building a network and becoming connected.
We’ll talk about meeting people in the gym.
We’ll talk about book clubs.
We’ll talk about volunteering in your community – you’ll be surprised at the quality people you can meet this way.
We’ll talk about how to meet people as you go about your day.
And we’ll talk about how to use the power of the Internet to help you develop local relationships.
