5 Steps To Being More Positive
My life—and all of our lives—is filled with challenges that can sometimes make it very difficult to be positive.
But choosing to be positive has helped me to become the person I want to be.
I know that being positive – and striving to make the best of every situation – really does make a difference in the outcome of whatever you’re dealing with.
Here are 5 Steps to help you be more positive:
1. Your attitude is a choice –
It’s easy to blame everything on someone else, but you and you alone are responsible for your attitude. Understanding and believing this is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself.
Everything happens how it happens, and you get to choose how you want to feel about it. Your attitude is the one thing you control – nobody else can take that away from you.
2. Get rid of the negativity in your life –
If you want to live a positive, joyful life, you can’t be around negative people who don’t encourage your happiness.
Nobody is perfect and that’s not what you’re looking for.
But some people are always negative and can actually be toxic to your well-being. Start making new friends who support you in a good way.
Quit watching the news on TV. If there’s something you need to know, someone will tell you. But the TV is full of negative issues that you don’t need in your life.
3. Look for the positive –
In every situation, there is something good. Sometimes it can be hard to find, but it is there.
Even a horrible situation can put you in a place where you met someone new or learned something that would benefit you.
No matter how terrible the situation might seem, you will be able to find something good if you take the time to really look for it.
4 – Reinforce positivity in yourself –
The more you practice, the better you’ll get – and yes that applies to being positive too.
Watch what you say to yourself in your thoughts.
Make it a point to tell yourself you’re awesome. Tell yourself how good you look or that you did a great job at work or whatever it was that you did that day.
Remind yourself every day of all the positive qualities you have.
5. Share positivity with others –
Share your wealth of positivity with the world. Remember that what you send out to the Universe is what will come back to you.
Appreciate everyone you come in contact with. Be nice to people. Tell them they look great or that they did a great job. Do what you can to cheer people up – send flowers, or a nice card or note.
The more you look for positive in others, the more it will be returned to you – in more ways than you could ever imagine.
Follow these steps and each day it will get easier.
Most of us tend to always look for the negative in every situation or person. But that is nothing more than a habit.
If we work to create the habit of only looking for good, before we know it, that’s what we’ll do – without even thinking of it.
And the more you appreciate everything around you, the more your life will be fulfilled and happy!
