Beware of Dream Snatchers Who Just Don’t Understand

Just a word of warning about the dream snatchers you’re bound to meet after you’ve started your network marketing business.

You may have met some of these people already because there are more of them than there are of us.

They’re not bad people; they’re well intentioned and they’ll tell you they’re looking out for your best interests when they advise you not to join a network marketing company.

At first they’ll laugh it off: “Oh, you can’t be serious!” they’ll say, thinking that you might be joking.  If you persist, they’ll come on a little stronger: “They’re all pyramid schemes, and you’re going to lose your money!  You’re not that crazy, are you?”  If you don’t yield to their advice, they’ll turn to ridicule.

The thing is… in two to five years as a network marketer, you can make more money than you would earn in 30-40 years working for someone else… that is, if you can ignore the dream snatchers!

There will always be skeptics about network marketing.  Don’t let them get to you.  The key is to stay focused on your dreams and goals and not allow yourself to get caught up in their negative thinking.

The best way to handle their attitude is to agree with them.  “You know, you’re probably right.   It might not be a good deal.  But it looks good to me, and I’ve already signed up.  But I haven’t done much yet, so I would consider it a real favor if you would go with me to the next meeting or accompany me to talk with my sponsor and express your concerns to him.  Please listen carefully, because if it’s not a good deal, I certainly don’t want to be in it!

Don’t be surprised if your friend refuses to go, saying, “It would be a waste of my time.”  If you can’t get through to them, just remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

You can try to present facts to them and that might help.  But ultimately, always remember that your own attitude is yours – and it’s yours to keep.  You do that by remembering that failure is an event, not a person, yesterday really did end last night, and today is a brand new day.

In the meantime, keep working on personal development, listening to recordings, reading the books, attending the meetings, and listening to your sponsor and others in your upline who are doing well.  Your upline team probably has the answers you need at this point.  Don’t listen to those who know nothing but have strong opinions.

p.s. Isn’t it funny how we believe those voices that tell us that we are failures; but the voices that tell us we are amazing, we so easily push away from our plans. Change your mind set and start telling yourself what you can do, not what you can’t do, and then believe it and begin to do it.  Just do it!
