Blog Tips for New Bloggers
Now that you’ve started your new blog, you may be wondering what to do with it.
Or maybe you are already blogging, but a few tips would be helpful too.
Here are a few tips I’ve learned along the way that I hope you find helpful as well.
Stay on Topic –
As you’re writing your blog posts, be sure to stay within your niche.
Once you’ve chosen a topic for your blog, you want to make sure that each article you write is related to the topic you’ve chosen. This will ensure that you’re writing about what your readers are interested in.
For instance, if your blog is about being a mom and the issues that a mom deals with on a day-to-day basis, and you write about sports, you’ll lose many of your followers. Many of your readers are not interested in sports and that’s not why they are following your blog.
Focus on Building up the Content in Your Blog –
I suggest you blog daily for at least the first 90 days, and wait until you have at least 10 posts before you start promoting your blog.
Your first priority should be to write content to fill up your empty blog. You don’t want to have visitors come to your blog and then leave because they don’t see much there. Once you have 90 days worth of content you can slow down a little if you want.
Reply to Every Comment As Soon as Possible –
If you write great articles for your blog, you’ll receive great comments from the people who read and benefit from them.
Be sure to reply to each and every comment left on your blog post, as soon as possible. You want your reader to see that you are an active blogger and that you value what they have to say. Also when you reply, it will bring your reader back to your blog, resulting in more traffic to your blog.
Be Sure that You’re Building a Mailing List –
One of the biggest mistakes I hear from other bloggers is that they made the mistake of starting their mailing list late.
Having an email list is great for bringing people back to your blog, and also to build relationships with your readers. It can also ultimately provide you with a vehicle to make money at some point.
Network with Other Bloggers –
Start to get to know and build relationships with other bloggers. Share their blog posts, ask them to share yours, and network with them.
Ultimately, the more people know about your blog, and the more value you provide in the marketplace, the better you’ll do. And that includes other bloggers. You have a lot in common – use that to build relationships. And you can help each other on the road to success.
If you’re a blogging newbie, I hope these tips help you. Just keep moving forward, and with time, you’ll build a large following and will soon be on the road to success.
