To syndicate your content means to publicize it, or get it out to people. We do this by sharing our blog post with our social media sites and other places on the Internet where people share content virally.
Another reason we syndicate our content across multiple places is to get other websites linking back to our content.
This is an important SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy. The more places that are linking to our content, the more “popular” our content is in the eyes of the search engines, and the higher our content will rank in the search engine results pages.
Here are a couple of great places to syndicate your content to get you started:
Facebook – You’ll want to publish it on your Profile Page if you promote your business there, and on your Business Page if you have one. Just copy and paste the URL (web address) of your blog post into the status update on Facebook, wait a couple of seconds for it to load your blog post, and then you can delete the link that you inserted. Once the content shows up, you don’t need to keep the link in there. Select the picture you want to show if you have a choice, and just click on Post.
Facebook groups are also another great place to post your content. I usually publish to about 20-30 groups per day. Search for groups that are within your niche. So if you’re promoting a business opportunity you might look for groups such as work at home, or work at home moms, or home business. If you’re promoting another business such as wellness or beauty, look for those kinds of groups – ones that are interested in what you’re talking about.
You’ll find a lot of spamming in many of the groups depending on what they allow. But your posts will stand out because you’re providing valuable content. And your goal isn’t for people to see you in the group, rather that your post show up in the personal newsfeed of the thousands of group members.
Google Plus – This is another great place to post your link to your content. Join Pinterest if you haven’t already. Then go to your profile, and choose link and past your link in there.
Linked-in – Another social network you should belong to. Be sure to share the link to your blog post in your Activity field.
Twitter – Same here. Share with your twitter account. You may need a shortening service because Twitter limits you to 140 characters. Bit.ly is a great service for this. You don’t want to become a member unless you want to be able to view past links. Just paste the web address into the “shorten” field and Bit.ly will give you a shortened version you can tweet from your twitter account.
Pinterest – Be sure to share your main image with a link to your blog post.
Pingler – Pingler is a no cost tool to help you create backlinks to your blog. This helps you to rank higher in Google and show up more often when someone searches for your topic. Just fill in all the fields, watch the required short video and enter the security code from the video. Be sure to leave the webpage open until it has completed pinging the links.
Social Monkee – This is a paid service to help you create backlinks. The smallest subscription is fine, and will allow you to promote one post per day to 25 sites. It also helps you rank higher on Google.
These are just some of the ways to promote your blog posts online. You should be able to complete this in only about 15-20 minutes per day. The key is consistency. If you do these steps every day without fail, before you know it, your blog will start attracting the right people into your business.
