Kiva

KIVA Are you like many who would like to do something to combat poverty and give to people who are really in need, but don’t know exactly where to start?  Now there is a way you can give valuable help to individuals on a personal level even though they are in another country.  People who really need the help and are willing to do what it takes to make a difference in their lives.

There is an organization that I’m involved in called KIVA.  Kiva is a way for everyday people to give micro-loans to help small business in developing countries to get off the ground to become self-sufficient.  This means that one small load can help a person take care of himself throughout their entire lifetime.

Here are just a few of the ways Richard and I have been able to help people through Kiva:

KIVA Lago lives in Georgia.  He purchased stock of nuts with the received Kiva loan. Now, the nut prices are lower as it is harvested season.Lago will keep the stock and sell nuts later with a price mark-up. He will get a good income and improve the standard of living for his family members.

KIVA Laila-Fay lives in the Philippines. She was able to buy new tires and a motor carpet for her transportation business.

KIVA Dorjpalam lives in Mongolia. We were able to help him pay tuition fees for his daughter.

These are just a few of the loans we’ve been able to help with.  The cool thing is you can help with as little as $25.00 and what a difference you can make in someone’s life.
