Marketing Your Blog OnlineAnyone who is familiar with marketing your blog online knows that it takes dedication, hard work and consistency.  Build it and they will come, right? Unfortunately, when it comes to starting a new blog that is simply not true.

When you first get started, it may seem like you’re doing a lot of work with no payoff.  But Blog marketing takes time.  Just know that marketing your blog is something you have to build.

There are many things you can do to market your blog and get it out there to be seen by the world.  The most significant way to develop a loyal online following is by creating useful content that readers will consume and share.  Keep in mind that it’s all about providing value.

Given that, here are some other tips to help you market your blog:

Visit other blogs that are relevant to yours and leave comments.  Doing so gets your blog out there so readers of that blog may want to look at yours too.  The key is to make sure your comments are thoughtful and relevant to the blog post you’re responding to.  If readers are intrigued with what you said, they’ll be likely to visit your site to see what you’re about.

Make friends with other bloggers.  Network with them and become friends if possible.  Find out what they do to get so many visitors and how they keep them interested.  Exchanging ideas with other successful bloggers is a great idea and a good way to become friends.  After all, you have blogging in common!

Post frequently on your blog.  Who wants to read a blog that is out of date?  Give your readers what they want with fresh new content and give it to them often.  Post daily, weekly or bi-weekly but be consistent.  This way your readers and visitors will know how often to check your blog for a new post.

When someone comments on your blog, be sure to acknowledge it.  Let them know you appreciate them taking the time to comment on your blog. If others see comments on your blog going unanswered, they will likely not comment either.  No one wants to have a conversation with themselves.  Make them feel important and they will come back again and again.

Watch your website analytics to see where your traffic is coming from.  Know which search engines are sending people to your blog and which are not.  Find out which keywords people are searching for to find you.  This is all valuable information, which will help you write posts that are more relevant to your audience.

When quoting an article written from someone else, be sure to give the author full credit and provide a link back to the original article.

Marketing your blog is vital if you are looking to make money online.  These techniques will help you get more blog traffic and readers.  Be consistent and stay with it.  Don’t give up and you will reap the rewards.
