Thoughts on Leadership

Are you working on constantly improving yourself and building your business?  It is important to work on yourself and your skills every day.

As I’m building my business and my team, I believe that I need to lead by example.

I spend my time on building my contact list by starting new conversations daily with the people I meet as I go about my day.  I also utilize social media to make new friends, and I blog daily to build relationships with the people I meet online.

I absolutely attend my company’s annual convention, and I attend at least 3-4 other personal growth seminars throughout the year.

People will do what you do, not what you tell them to do.  So you need to be doing those things daily and you team will do them as well.  I’m constantly prospecting, looking for new people and building relationships everywhere I go.

The key is to focus on the relationships.

Never look at people as your next business partner or customer.  People see right through that.  Instead, simply nurture and grow each relationship for it’s own sake.  Take a genuine interest in others and look for ways to help them.  And then as you get to know each other, if the opportunity presents itself, then you can bring up the possibility of working together.

Leadership is not easy.

It’s really more like a roller coaster.  There are times when excitement is high and your business is soaring, but there are also times when you seem to have nothing but challenges, objections, and hurdles.

Mindset is also very important.

Be careful what you say because those thoughts become truths.

If you say that this is hard, or nobody has any money, or any or a number of negative thoughts, that is what you’ll encounter.  You’ll attract people who have every excuse not to get started.

But if you shift your thoughts to this isn’t difficult, it’s so affordable to have your own business with all the benefits that come with it, that’s what you’ll find – people who think the same.

Shifting your mindset and investing in your education and skills is what will set you apart in this business.  Get busy and do the action steps required, and you’ll get better as you go.

If you’re struggling, find someone who is achieving what you want and follow them.  Before you know it, you’ll have the success you desire!
