You Can’t Make Money If You Treat Your Business As A Hobby
Whether you plan to work 6 hours or 60 hours a week as a Network Marketer, treating your business like a hobby is a mistake.
Do you know anyone who’s made money from a hobby? Once in a while a hobby can grow into something more, but it will still take effort.
The first thing you’ll want to do is make a business plan. Decide how, when and where you are going to work your business.
If it’s six hours per week, that’s fine, as long as you plug those six hours into your calendar and have a game plan on how to make it work. Those six hours will need to be spent in front of people – either sharing a video with them, showing them the business, talking to them on the phone, or whatever it is to be successful in your company. Things like cleaning your desk don’t count as business activities.
One of the hardest things about working from home is getting others to understand that you’re still working.
Sometimes you might get a phone call from a friend who needs a ride to the airport. This is hard because you now have to choose whether to help your friend and shortchange your business, or work your business and maybe hurt your friend’s feelings.
It’s a good idea to explain to your friends, family, neighbors, etc., that even though you’re at home every day, you really do have a job. Your hours are 10am – 4pm or 6pm – 9pm or whatever you’ve set them up to be. And during those hours, you’re just as busy and committed as they are when they go to work.
