Focus on the End

Focus on the EndWe’ve been talking a little about the Book, called you2 by Price Pritchett.  This tiny book contains 18 principles that can help you have a quantum leap your life.

Today I want to talk about his principle titled Focus on Ends Rather Than Means.

Keep in mind the picture of what it is that is your vision. What looks like your quantum leap?

If you were having a quantum leap, what would be happening?  What would your life be like?  Get a clear picture in your mind, because remember your mind thinks in pictures.  If I mention your front door to you, or the car you ride in most often, or the bed you sleep in, or your kitchen sink.  You did not see the letters D O O R or S I N K.  You saw a picture of your front door, and of all these other examples.  Your mind thinks in pictures.

No one gets to think your thoughts but you. No one gets to create your vision but you.  But if you don’t give an intelligent design to the screen of your mind, your mind moves to a default position.  Just like water, it will follow the path of least resistance.

So you want to build a structure in your mind of a picture of your quantum leap – the life you would love to live.  And then, focus on your picture rather than worrying how you are going to get there, or thinking, “After all, my live has been…” or “If I only had the money…”

Get your mind off what appears to be in the way and focus on the ends rather than the means.

Price Pritchett says:

You don’t know how you’re going to get there, but you need to know where you want to go.

It’s crucial for you to have a crystal clear picture of what you want to accomplish.  Operate with a sharply defined mental image of the outcome you seek.  Rivet your attention on that spot where you are to land at the end of your quantum leap.  Visualize your arrival.  When you do that, it’s like you “magnetize” yourself to the ways and means involved in the methodology for getting there.  The solutions begin to appear.   Answers come to you.

You’ll attract an idea.  But the answers of the ideas that will help you find your way are not at the frequency of the problem.  They are at the frequency of the result.  So this is a very, very important part of stabilizing your quantum leap.  Focus on the ends rather than the means.  Leave the how up to the universe.  It will give you a step-by-step plan.  You don’t have to figure it out.  It already knows how, and you have access to that mind that already knows how.

Your job is to have a crystal clear image and rivet your attention to this image.  Imagine yourself… visualize yourself… feel yourself living the life you imagine.  And then pay attention to whatever idea comes your way.

p.s.  Look at it this way – you’re not supposed to be concerned about what happens in the middle of a jump… you’re supposed to be thinking about where you’re going to land!
