Today I want to talk about his principle titled Suspend Disbelief.
When you hear those words, “Suspend Disbelief,” you’re probably thinking, “What does that mean and how do I do that?”
This is what Price Pritchett says:
Your mindset, for the moment, may be flawed by doubt and skepticism. The idea of making a quantum leap in your performance, jumping from your present level of achievement to one several stages higher in one bold stroke, is an alien idea. You haven’t been trained to think that way. You may have definite reservations about the possibility that you can make such exponential improvement at all, particularly with less effort and in a very abbreviated time frame.
But what if you could? Would you be okay with it? If you really could make exponential improvement in one abbreviated effort or moment, with a whole lot less effort really… would it be okay with you?
Price Pritchett says:
The experts generally agree, though, that people typically use only about ten percent of their true potential. If we accept that argument, and even if there were no other resources outside yourself that you could bring to bear on the situation, you still could do ten times as well as you’ve been doing.
When I first read this and thought about it, I had a lot of inner argument about it. My surface mind was really defensive about this idea even though I’ve been studying success principles for quite awhile. And yet the idea that I personally could really have a quantum leap forward in my life met with a lot of internal objection.
I moved to that part of me that could notice what I was noticing, and I got curious about why would I reject this? In a universe in which infinite possibilities exist, why would I choose not to embrace this possibility? Others have. It’s been done before. Why would I not believe that I could also have quantum leaps?
So your opportunity in this moment is to go after your disbelief. Go after your skepticism and shine the light of awareness on it and say, “I would not even be considering quantum leaps, except that they are already knocking at my door. And I am going to choose to make them welcome. I may have no idea how to do it. …But if they’ve ever happened to anyone, they can happen with me – regardless of whether I believe it can actually happen in this moment or this week – I’m going to make welcome the idea, until I’m comfortable with it.”
Get comfortable with the idea. That’s key! Quantum leaps have happened in this universe. They’ve happened in people’s lives and can happen in yours!
There would be a hole in the fabric of the universe if you didn’t exist. And the idea of a quantum leap – you think it’s your idea? It’s life itself seeking a freer, fuller, expanded expression in your life by means of you. Life already knows how to do this.
Make it welcome. Start with your own awareness. Suspend your disbelief. It’s happened in the universe, it is happening in other people’s lives and it really can happen with you!

EXPECT Success!
By Lynn Huber
p.s. Instead of holding back because you don’t have hard proof that you can make a quantum leap, see if you end up with evidence proving you can’t. Just make the jump – act as if your success is guaranteed – and then see which set of ideas you should believe in.
