When most people start in a home business, they don’t always understand in the beginning that the key to creating momentum is to stay connected with your customers, team leaders and prospects.
For this to happen, you need to be in direct communication with three separate databases:
Customers – Team Members – Prospects.
Each of these databases will require different messages, and as your list grows, it will be almost impossible to stay in contact with each person. Working by phone, or with individual emails would take you forever. You need to be able to send out messages to each of these databases with the press of a button. That’s why the auto responder is so important.
Very few people (in fact, almost none!) will ever respond to any type of offer on their first exposure. Studies have shown that it actually takes a minimum of at least 3-5 exposures for a person to sign into a new program.
Your Auto Responder will help you continue the relationship building process with your entire database. And you’ll be able to run your business from anywhere in the world – on autopilot.
What does that mean?
It means that your business will continue to run and to communicate with every new person who opts-in to your system, whether you call them or not.
The phone is still very important. Your business is still about building relationships so if you’re not prepared to pick up the phone to make new friends and build new relationships from all the leads your system is getting, then this business is probably not for you.
But your Auto Responder keeps track of the person’s email and contact information and sends them a series of messages over time. These messages are prewritten and stored in the system.
The messages go out at whatever interval you select: every day, every week, once a month, or whenever you prefer. We recommend daily emails to build relationships.
Your auto responder will supply you with opt in forms that you can install on your blog and lead capture pages. When someone opts into your auto responder by putting in their name and email in the box, three things will happen:
• Your first message will be sent.
• You will receive a notice that someone opted into your auto-responder.
• The person’s name and email address are captured and added to your web based opt-in list, which is part of your auto responder system.
Once the auto responder is setup, all you have to do is load it with six or seven pre-written letters to get started. Then you’ll be able to concentrate on building your list. Be sure to subscribe yourself so you’ll see how your letters look when they are sent.
Your Auto Responder is the MOST IMPORTANT tool in building your list. It keeps your program in front of the prospect so they won’t forget you.
It provides your prospects with more information, since studies have shown that people don’t buy on the first contact. As you build up trust with your prospect they will be more willing to consider your program.
The fact that they have asked for more information means they are good, targeted leads – they are interested in finding out more – and they will probably join you when the time is right.
Your Auto Responder does all this for you automatically.
In this business, you MUST play the game correctly, consistently, persistently, and with the utmost determination to succeed.
That means getting your message in front of the prospect in a way that has meaning to them, repeatedly over the course of time. You need to send them compelling, ongoing content that stays in the prospect’s mind. Include information about yourself, tell stories, and get personal with your prospects so that they feel like they know you.
Then, when the time is right for your prospect, you will be there ready to help them get started.
